Christening Cake Part Deux

So this weekend I made a Christening cake for my neighbor's darling baby boy. It is based off a book style cake with a chalice on the right and his name on the left. Give it a look below:

Apparently I've offended at least half of my Connecticut audience by showing off my Boston Red Sox cake and Fenway park. For this I truly apologize! My husband is a Mets fan (I know, what was he thinking) but I have made an old Yankee Stadium cake for my brother-in-law. Unfortunately it was before digital photography! I'll get it scanned in and up on the site ASAP!

Princess Birthday Cake!

My niece loves princesses...all things princess...especially pink ones! For her birthday I used some small princess figurines that my sister-in-law gave me and a book pan to create a "fairy tale" princess cake.

Check it out below:

Baby Quilt and Stroller

Here is a cake I just finished up this weekend for a baby shower. I matched the quilt to a design on the invitation to the shower and added a stroller (made of cake with crackers covered in frosting for the wheels) on top.

I'm talking baseball...

It's america's pastime...so I get asked alot if I can do baseball themed cakes. Living in CT it's typically Red Sox or Yankees (although my husband is sadly a Mets fan). I can do things as simple as a logo on a circular or sheet cake...or I've also done some stadiums. See Fenway below!

Babby Shower Cookies

Here is a cute cookie option that I've used for my own kids. These kiddo cookies are perfect for baby showers, christenings, "Hooray you're here" parties, etc.

I can add names, a question mark if you aren't sure of the name/sex, or whatever you want!

Happy ____ Birthday!

One idea that is growing rapidly in the world of Birthday parties is...the cupcake. You can still do a small cake to show a great design and hold the candles but cupcakes are a great hand out. Why you ask?

No cutting
Everyone gets the same size cupcake
Everyone gets the same amount of frosting (critical for Kiddos)
LOTs of decorating options

Here are some cupcakes I've done in the past for various birthday parties:

Christening Cake & Cookies

One very exciting day in the lives of or children was their christening. I made a cross cake for the party after this blessed event and cross cookies with our daugher's name on them as a favor to give out to all the guests.

Martin Guitar Cake

Turning 40 is a big deal...so when my friend's husband turned the big 4-0 she decided it was finally time to get him the guitar of his dreams...or at least a cake replica of it! Here is my replica of the Martin D-28.

Curious George Cake

My son Eoin (pronounced "Owen"...I know we tortured him) LOVES Curious George. He got a small stuffed George and has been carrying him everywhere since the day he arrived. So of course for his first Birthday I decided to make him a monkey cake.

Golf Cake

So with a last name like "Noonan" you can probably guess that my husband (not named Danny) LOVES to golf. So for his birthday I put together this golf cake complete with golfer and hole.

Ipod Nano Cake

Ah the Ipod. What was life like before this wonderous invention? I certainly don't remember...and neither does this kid who was given a given a walkman to explore for a week. Here is an Ipod Nano cake I made for a friend...her daughter thought it was the best thing since...well...an Ipod!

Summer Tiki Birthday Cake

This cake was inspired by an invitation to a birthday party...not by they Brady Bunch episode where Greg is haunted by the evil Tiki spirits.

Annie's Cakery...from humble beginnings

I have been making cakes since the fall of 1999. It started as a whim. I saw a class on cake decorating and made my best friend and our moms sign up for it. After all four of us completed the beginners decorating classes, I was hooked. The others were not so much. I continued taking every class offered and have been studying and working with cakes, cookies and other sugar confections since. What started as a fun night out has become a passion. Luckily, I happened into cakes and sugar at the same time the world has become obsessed and impressed with custom cakes. My goal is to make out of the ordinary cakes that taste great and make you smile. I love being able to provide a truly custom piece of art that will be devoured. One of my great pleasures is seeing peoples reactions to my confections, but enjoy it even more that they rave about the taste.
