...and the Beach = Sandals!

So I couldn't JUST make a beach cake. My girlfriend also enjoys Eliza B sandals so I made her her very own pair...out of cake!

One of our good friends celebrated her birthday today...she loves days at the beach in the outerbanks with a good book...so I made her a beautiful beach scene...

Celtic Christening

Not only is this weekend the Irish Music Festival at the IAHS in Glastonbury (PLUG) it is also the Christening of one Cailin Rayna Vaughn. I made this cross cake for the occasion with a little Celtic feel...

Pyramid Cake

While there maybe some debate as to who, how, and why the original Pyramids were created I can assured I made all three of these pyramids for a 40th birthday bash this weekend. Each Pyramid is a different flavor (Chocolate, Yellow, and Carrot Cake...all with butter cream frosting.)

My husband says this is the best cake I've ever made...mainly because there was a lot of cake carved off to make the pyramids which is now residing in his belly!

Tiki God...praying for rain in CT

One of my first cakes I posted onto this blog was a Tiki Cake I did a few years ago. Here is an updated version I just made for a big 40th birthday bash this weekend. I made this new version a little more 3D and used fondant for some of the detailing work (vs. all butter cream in the previous version.)

Strawberry Wedding Cake

This weekend we went to Upstate NY for a wedding of one of my husbands closest friends. I had the honor and privilege to prepare the wedding cake! After a brief consultation (and slightly longer tasting...the groom enjoys his cake) I created this Strawberry Wedding Cake.

Congratulations Cory and Danielle!

UPDATE: Here is a photo from my good friend Marisa...very artsy!
