Red Sox Nation vs. the Evil Empire

The middle point between Fenway Park and Yankee Stadium resides in the center of Connecticut so it is no surprise that this rivalry is in full force here. It is not uncommon for friends or even spouses to remain divided in their allegiance.

My brother is a die-hard "Sawx" fan and his good friend Nick is a huge Yankee's fan. They had a surprise 30th party together and here is the cake I made to help them celebrate.

Dustin Pedroia Sighting

"How many MVPs you do you know who can't hit the high inside fastball?"
-Dustin Pedroia, 2B Boston Red Sox

"Aside from you? ....."
-Kevin Butler, Director of Game Accuracy

A CLASSIC commercial from a the little big man Dustin Pedroia. One of my friend's son is a HUGE fan so I made this Jersey cake. My husband informed me that the "Sox" do not have their names on the home jersey's so I had to make it official.

Happy Birthday Christopher!

SARATOGA!

My husband is originally from a small town just outside of Saratoga Springs, NY so he LOVES horse racing. Recently I had a chance to practice my horse "Caking" for a good friend's birthday barbecue. Here is my chocolate fondant cake with bridal:

Brass Bonanza!

Here is my latest cake...a Whalers Hockey puck for my neighbor's 40th birthday. We didn't have Brass Bonanza playing but it was an awesome celebration with a pretty sweet cake!

Curling = My Husband's favorite sport every 4 years

Every 4 years when the winter olympics roll around my husband is mezmorized by a sport. You might think it would be hockey as he is a huge fan but it is actually curling. Men's or Women's, US or any other country really, he is riveted to the screen as the rocks are "curled" down the ice preceded by the sweepers...sweeping.

So one of my good friend's father was retiring and he is a member of the only curling club we have in Connecticut...so I told him it HAD to be a curling cake.

Pabst Blue Ribbon Birthday Cake

Here is a picture of a 30th birthday cake for the biggest fan of Pabst Blue Ribbon! I must admit I think the rest of the bar enjoyed it as much as the birthday boy himself.
